Why see a naturopath?
Rather than just managing symptoms, a naturopath works to understand the underlying causes of imbalance, using nutrition, lifestyle support and natural medicine to help your body function at its best. It’s a gentle, evidence-informed way to improve energy, support hormones, strengthen immunity and feel more in control of your long-term wellbeing.
Fertility & Preconception care
Comprehensive testing (for both partners), adequate nutrients such as folate, iodine, and iron can help to support your preconception care.
Pregnancy & Motherhood
Supplementing during pregnancy with omega 3 , folate, choline, and vitamin D can assist in your pregnancy and post partum recovery.
Perimenopause & Menopause
Hormone testing, supporting gut and thyroid health are all essential support areas during this change of hormone health. Think of it like a 2nd puberty.
PCOS
Evaluating hormones like FSH, LH, testosterone, FAI, and progesterone, as well as insulin and fasting glucose, are all essential when supporting women with PCOS.
Endometriosis
Adopting dietary changes for an extended period time can help with the management of inflammation. Herbal medicine, and nutritional supplements can assist in pain management for women with endometriosis.
PMS & PMDD
Understanding your cycle phases and hormonal shifts in oestrogen and progesterone can intensify symptoms of PMS and conditions like PMDD. High doses of particular nutrients can assist in managing some of these areas of hormone health.
Thyroid health
Did you know you need iodine and tyrosine to build thyroid hormone? What happens if you don’t have enough of these in your diet? Your thyroid can start to under function. Thorough testing and clinical evaluation is a great way to assess if thyroid health is in need of support
Insulin resistance
One of the main causes of inability to lose weight can be due to insulin resistance. Glucose tolerance testing is a fantastic tool to understand if your body is insulin resistant. To balance this out nutrients like magnesium, chromium, myo-inositol can help get the insulin signalling better, and over time help with weight loss.
Cholesterol
The first place to start with lowering cholesterol is gut and liver health. Alongside with dietary assessment and changes you can see some great improvements with cholesterol lowering.
Gut health
Conditions like IBS can be stress and diet related. Looking at ways to support the nervous system and change the diet can help with reducing symptoms of bloating, diarrhoea, and constipation.
Gut microbiome testing is a valuable tool in understanding more about the complexities of our gut.
Adrenal health
Your adrenals a small but mighty! They release hormones like cortisol, adrenaline, and noradrenaline. These hormones affect our energy and many other metabolic functions.Using nutrients like activated B vitamins, Magnesium, calcium, and herbal medicine can be great assets in nourishing your adrenals.
Anxiety & Mood
In some situations diet and gut health can affect your mood and levels of anxiety. For example caffeine and alcohol have proven to change anxiety levels. Certain herbal medicines have been studied to show helpful benefits with mood and anxiety support. While not the only contributing factor, these can be a nice way to help support mild anxiety and mood changes.
